On Thursday, October 24 at 6:00 PM, there will be a reception at the Simsbury public library followed by a screening of the documentary The Lost Forests of New England. This 2018 film features stunning footage of rare old-growth forests in New England. Leading experts and outstanding drone videography help tell the story: what our forests once were before European settlement, what changes have taken place, and what our remnant old-growth stands look like today. Filmmaker Ray Asselin will introduce the film and join a post-film discussion to include Robert T. Leverett (Co-founder, Native Tree Society and co-author of the Sierra Club Guide to Eastern Old Growth Forests) and Dr. Joan Maloof, founder and director of the Old Growth Forest Network.
Registration is requested. Please sign up via the Simsbury Public Library
