Parkinson Forest

Parkinson Forest is 261 acres of woods with approximately 60 acres of old-growth. The old-growth portion is dominated by sugar maple (Acer saccharum) with American beech (Fagus grandifolia), white oak (Quercus alba), red oak (Quercus rubra) and tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipfera) having an important presence in the canopy. Several of the white oaks were cored about 40 years ago and were well over 200 years old at that time.
