Johnson-Dean Forest
Johnson-Dean Forest contains approximately 7 acres of mature woods adjacent to downtown Norcross. The forest offers a wood chip path that allows visitors to stroll through mature trees and rare plants, such as pink lady slippers. Among the large trees is the “kissing tree,” which is two species that have intertwined and grown together. The forest’s history can be seen through farming terraces in the soil and an old well house on North Barton Street from when the property was the location of the early 1940s City Water Works.
