Devoto Grove Picnic Area & Trailhead
Only 12 miles from the Montana border in northeastern Idaho along the Northwest Passage Scenic Byway and All American Road (US Highway 12), visitors can enjoy a break from their travels by taking a stroll on down this accessible interpretive trail and memorial to Bernard DeVoto: a conservationist and historian of the American west. The Devoto Grove Picnic Area and Trailhead offers visitors 2 short loops through stands of ancient western redcedar trees (some thousands of years old), views of the Lochsa River, and picnicking areas.
