Alice Moore Woods Nature Sanctuary
Alice W. Moore Woods Nature Sanctuary is one of the few Michigan Nature Association sanctuaries located within a city. MNA acquired this mature oak-hickory woodland in November 1990, making it MNA’s 118th sanctuary. Many of the red, white and bur oak trees constituting the forest are massive, with trunks up to three feet in diameter. Other trees thriving within the forest include black ash, shagbark hickory and silver maple.
