Arcadia Dunes: The C.S. Mott Nature Preserve

Protected in 2003, Arcadia Dunes is Grand-Traverse Regional Land Conservancy’s largest nature preserve, at 3927 acres, and includes 20 miles of trail that winds through dunes, forests and many other landscapes. Adjacent working farms have also been permanently protected, ensuring the longevity of this area’s rich agricultural heritage. The property’s incredibly diverse matrix of secondary hardwood forest, coastal dunes, and open fields provides a wide range of wildlife habitat. It also offers thoughtfully designed recreation opportunities and experiences, from hiking and birding to mountain biking and hunting.
