Palmer Woods Forest Reserve

Palmer Woods Forest Reserve is 1155 acres of mesic northern hardwood forest, the majority of which is mature, while 80 acres are considered true old-growth. The property had many large red oak, sugar maple, black cherry, hemlock and beech. There are also several rare and endangered plants, including several spring ephemerals. The property has an FQI value of 35.4, which represents areas of conservation importance and are floristically significant at the statewide level.
