Valley of the Giants - Pere Marquette State Forest

Locally known as the Valley of the Giants, this impressive area of older forest is accessed via the North Country National Scenic Trail. The trail follows a transition of forest types from upland red oak, to unique natural stands of old eastern white pine and red pine, to eastern hemlock and white cedar along twenty-two creek. The Valley of the Giants is approximately 60 acres located within the Traverse City Forest Management Unit of the Pere Marquette State Forest.
