Wesley Hill Nature Preserve

Owned and protected by the Finger Lakes Land Trust (FLLT), the Wesley Hill Nature Preserve comprises 435 acres (six tracts acquired by FLLT between 1999 and 2024), including the immense Briggs Gully, some of which forms the southern boundary, and several other gullies that wind through the preserve. Diverse stands of mature forest, including about 10 acres thought to be original old-growth forest, and another 200-220 acres of late-successional forest, host a wide array of native plants and wildlife. Sweeping views of the hills surrounding Honeoye Lake’s southern end, and 5.6 miles of hiking trails, make this site truly special for visitors. There are particularly large red and white oak, eastern hemlock, and eastern white pine trees on this Preserve.
