Leopold's Preserve

Leopold's Preserve is an oak-hickory forest that weaves through a residential community. Named for Aldo Leopold, Leopold's Preserve is a 380-acre park that allows visitors to explore diverse habitats, scenic overlooks, and historic sites. Part of the Virginia Bird and Wildlife Trail, it is among the best places to see birds and wildlife in the state. Most of the forest is dated at around 100 years and its abundant white and red oak, hickory, tulip poplar, maple and beech are carefully managed and provide a rich natural setting with seven miles of public trails.
